Leading Pinball Manufacturer Introduces Classic Paranormal-Themed Machine

ELK GROVE VILLAGE, IL – March 10, 2016 – Stern Pinball, Inc., the world's oldest and largest producer of arcade-quality pinball machines, proudly announced today the availability of its much anticipated Ghostbusters pinball machine inspired by the original Columbia Pictures blockbuster “Ghostbusters” film. The Ghostbusters pinball machine will be available in Pro, Premium, and Limited Edition models. The game will immerse players in the amazing and fun challenge of catching mischievous ghosts in an adventure-filled pinball environment capturing the world of Ghostbusters.

The Ghostbusters pinball experience highlights the humor of the film as the player progresses through the game. The game also includes custom speech by original “Ghostbusters” cast member, Ernie Hudson, who guides the player into becoming the newest member of the Ghostbusters team!

Ghostbusters pinball is designed to be easy to play but difficult to master. It features a moving interactive Slimer toy target and a fresh distinctive layout that integrates traditional pinball devices with unique multifunction two-way ramps featuring a magnetic diverter and scoring switches. In addition, the game features a modern take on a ball transfer target, combative open field drop targets, a ball eject target, a captive ball target and custom molded toys.

The Premium and Limited Edition models also feature an interactive ghost hologram target with animations, “para-normal” magnetic action slingshots, distinctive ramp architecture and additional custom molded toys.

All models feature beautiful and unique hand drawn art by renowned illustrator Jeremy Packer a.k.a. Zombie Yeti.

So, here is the issue I have. Stern is not doing anything new. I know they want to make a profit but at some point someone has to try new stuff, even just add an LCD to the head, something, anything. Don't get me wrong the machine looks great.

LCD looks awesome! Well on videos.. I have never played one. Njarmusk you selling your monopoly to raise money towards Ghostbusters? Saw a monopoly today thought it may be yours.

I am baffled by the people who want a LCD.When playing the game it adds nothing.If you are spectating it does,but I would rather play than watch.
I would be happy if the went back to alphanumeric displays and give me more game

I have only seen it on wizard of oz. it looked sweet. I know you don't spend much time staring at the screen but video modes are cool and so are cool jackpot videos and stuff. Im a sucker I know lol. However Funhouse is still my fave pin so I don't need DMD to enjoy a game.

I just ordered a full throttle with the 27" screen. I could care less about that part , but it will add a major wow factor for all my non pin friends and may just suck them in .

I'm not sold on them yet , likely won't be until I play one . I don't care for how they grab the ball and wiggle it . To me a sling should bounce the ball out , and usually into a danger zone , not throw it back and forth a few times before sending it on its way .

yeah those magnetic slings might make or break that game for most people. I'm happy to see that STERN is trying something new. Lets face it there hasn't been anything really innovative in YEARS. STERN should take a few more chances and throw out the standard sling layout and try something else!

people scream for something new and innovative, but how would they really react if they truly changed something and made it different , people on pinside would lose their mind . It would be truly funny to see. The new slings might turn out truly magical , but like their code , it will likely need some time and tweaks to dial them in , should be fun to watch along the way !
