Hey guys I read about this @ pinside. Not sure if it still works but it appears via the thread that it does @ http://www.cointaker.com/. Too bad cuz I ordered my LOTR LED set last week. Oh well, next order will most likely be the Stargate so I will save on that order.

Ya....I found out about this on Saturday, 5 days after ordering my LED kit for my Stargate. Would have been free shipping, or more stuff. I've pulled some of mine apart, LED's, new right plastic shooter ramp ordered, and some general repairs. I always thought the pin was just too dark.

I agree Stargate is very dark to the point I need to turn on the lights to see what the heck I am doing. I would love to you see your before and after pics once your done with the upgrade. I am most likely going to get the same full kit next month after I finish tweaking LOTR. That Stargate is a keeper, what a great PIN.

Thanks for the heads up guys, just about ordered cointaker LEDs last week for the TFTC. Did you guys order pre-set kits for your specific machines or did you piece a kit together on your own? I was thinking of piecing mine together, I think it'll work out to be a better value.

I'm probably going to try design my LED lighting for TFTC from scratch. Although if yours looks amazing OnTilt I may just order whatever you ordered. I haven't had any time to put into the design yet and I'll need to do it soon because I have some rubbers on the way and I don't want to take the thing apart 2 times if I can avoid it.

That was kind of my thinking as well. The less ripping things apart, the better ... for me at least.

I order mine as I need them...........some LEDS do nothing for certian colors...........so I leave normal bulbs in there.

Ordering kits,you are kinda stuck with what they think looks good,which you may disagree

What colors would you say are not worth ordering LEDs for?

blue,green and white make the most difference in colors and how they appear.
Yellow orange and red are the least.I have put white LEDS in these colors and they are brighter,but not as vibrant.

There are alsoifferent styles of leds,wide,spot,frosted(good for GI),one led,two led,four led etc.
best to order a few and then try them out.
I think cointaker has a sample pack of LEDS the sell,which has most different styles to try

Yeah there are all sorts of LEDs... I'm thinking a sample pack is definitely in order before I go all out and order a bunch.

Is it pointless to use a blue LED under a blue insert as an example? Does it make the most sense to use white LEDs under the various colors?

blue led under blue makes the blue really pop..using a white led under a blue insert would make the blue a lighter shade of blue.

I always try and match the color of the led with the color of the insert

I ended up buying ablaze LEDs from Pinballlife when I ordered several other things. Not sure if there is a huge difference between the two, but the price was right. If I'm not happy with em, I'll definitely place a cointaker order.

I do not like the coloring of Pinball Life LEDS...........but they work as well as Cointaker

Here is my crappy Iphone video of the LED kit installed. I have now installed 2 cliffy's, new Arwin plastic and protector, new ramp post, 2 rail protectors etc. I am going to be installing a shaker once I get my hands on that sold out PAL chip that pinbits sells.

Stargate being a high tech theme will look amazing with LEDS. I am going to get the cointaker kit eventually, just need to see how yours looks like first
