Hooked on LED'S Empty Hooked on LED'S

Post by gms Mon Oct 29, 2012 1:45 pm

I finished putting the LED's into my Stargate this weekend. It took a bit longer than I thought it would becuse I kept changing my mind on the colours and I don't have a mag tipped nut driver. (I bought one today). Anyway the game looks totaly different, much brighter and more fun to play. Now it makes the other games look dull. Instead of buying the kits, is it much cheaper to buy in bulk?

I really want to LED out my TFTC... in the mean time I started cleaning the underside of the inserts and the light bulbs.. MASSIVE difference. Unbelievable how dirty things get under there.

Found this topic on pinside: http://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/cheaper-led-kit-or-led-separate-order

apparently it's actually cheaper to purchase individual LEDs and put the kit together yourself... heh.. go figure.

You're right. I took some pics and they didn't turn out well. I'm just about finished my Avatar now, just 4 more flashers to go. I think it looks real good, the coloured LED's make for a big effect. The yellows by the flipper rails not so good. It seems real dark near the flippers. I think I'll try some cool white frosted LED 44's. Like I was told it really takes a bit of trial and error to find what you like. The kit idea might not always be the answer. study

Finished Avatar today, and it looks great. But now I have a problem. X-Men and Tron look dull. Actually, everything else now looks dull. Hmmm I think this means MORE LED'S !!! Laughing
