Ball kicker soilder joint cannot stay connected....
Hey now, whats the best way to solder this joint? The metal tip is pretty much gone and I have already soldered once but the vibration from kicking the balls out in the shooting lane has broken it again. I am a rookie when it comes to soldering.

Generally I make sure the tip of the wire is nice and straight and clean. I make sure to over saturate the tip of the wire with solder before I attempt to solder it to the terminal. Then I apply the tip of the wire to the terminal and hold there along with the tip of the soldering gun until the solder melts. Then remove the soldering iron and keep the wire still until the solder hardens.
In your case you have a very small terminal to work with from the top side (as shown in the picture). I'm thinking there should be more to work with on the other side. Can you get to the other side of the coil easily? Maybe removing the coil would be the easiest thing so you can get at it easier which will also make the soldering a lot easier.
Hope this helps.

Hey Prock, thanks for the tips. I need to pick up a better soldering iron to do this type of work. The one I have now only allows for quick solders. I have only had to repair one connection in the past on my Freddy PIN and that was easy since I had a large terminal to work with.
I also need to practice on junk parts before I start working on actual PINS. I am also worried about dropping a solder ball on the carpet as well, so I need to lay down some card board when I work on an open PIN.
Hey if someone here wants to host a workshop on how to solder like a pro, do a flipper rebuild etc count me in and I will bring the beer

Hey Prock, after several attempts to try to get it to solder to the terminal (could not get underneath) it would not hold. So I took some pliers, squished the stripped wire and fed it underneath the diode band. The bent it back over and soldered that. It should hold fine now! LOTR back in operation
