Re: New Translite on STTNG installed!
Hey pinheads, i have isolated the problem with the Shields GI to J121-7 coming off the driver board. The voltage should be 6.8VAC and its coming in under a volt on the DMM. I also checked out the Fish Tales Manual and found that J121-7 lights up a string on the Backbox GI using Q18 which is what Bay78 described when he put the board in his PIN was not working!
I am going to be ordering 4 x 5131-12725 Triac BT138E (Driver Transistor Q18)from marcos since Bay78 needs one as well for his spare board and a couple of Lamp Socket wedge base. Hopefully this will fix this issue!

Re: New Translite on STTNG installed!
Hey now, swapped in the Brand new Rottendog motherboard for STTNG (very nice) and the damn GI Shields on J121-7 are still not working!!!! The PIN also still dims when I double the flippers! The board appears solid, so I am going to keep it in for now.
So I am stumped again, it must be something on the lamp matrix that got fubared when I took it out last time. This is bulltitty!
Dave I am going to bring the old driver board to Ricks on Friday with new Triac to replace Q18. What the hell, might as well replace it since a GI string was also out on your pin.

Ahh damn that sucks man. Since you pretty much ruled out a board problem it must be a wiring problem. Check all soldering points on the lights on that strip. In my TFTC a strip wasn't working because a single solder joint let go sometime while we were transporting it to my basement. You could also check for continuity through that strip. This is a GI string we are talking about correct? or part of the lamp matrix?

Hey now Prock, I am sure it has to be something simple I am missing. I actually don't mind not having the shields on, the flashers in the shields are working fine when explosions happen etc.
Overall the game flippers feel stronger along with the cannons moving since adding this Rottendog board, so its adding some juice for sure making the flow of the game even faster which I like!
