Wo is all grabbing a game from Gerry ? And what are you doing for shipping ? Is there a group discount for shipping or are you on your own ? Anyone have shipping quotes ?

I'm grabbing one... or 2 (still deciding on the second). You have to arrange shipping from his place to the terminal. Bay78 will have some better details. Talking to guys who have done it before I expect to pay about $300 to my door. It might be cheaper if I go pick it up at the terminal here in Winnipeg. I'd imagine we can get a bit of a discount for a bulk shipping deal but I haven't talked to anyone about it yet. I know of 3 games for sure coming to Winnipeg and if you get one and I grab another one thats 5. There has got to be some savings if we all ship together.
Also a word of warning, these games are usually right off a route or have been sitting for a while, you will probably need to do a lot of work to get it working 100%. Who knows what problems you will be presented with when you get one. It's a bit risky but if you like to fix them it's a no brainer!! The worst part I guess is the lack of information you get about a game... it can be a shot in the dark if all you get is a few pictures of the game powered on.
What game are you looking to grab?

I was thinking about black rose , fully expecting some work when it shows. I am still undecided right now as I figured shipping would be about 400 to Regina, or it's a trip to winnipeg for me again and that's really no cheaper.

That Black Rose looks to be in pretty descent shape. I've never played the game but I hear it's really good. $1600 + $400 shipping + $200 misc parts to get it 100% working (assuming of course nothing major is wrong).. still not doing bad for a DMD. Let me know if you do pull the trigger, maybe we can work something better out for shipping.

Ya I was thinking maybe it can get shipped with the Winnipeg crews pins . Maybe someone could receive it and hold it and I can run down for it . ( I would pay some one to hold it for me )

How often does he bring these in? Nothing on the current list excites me. That is nothing I can afford anyway...
If I had a big bag o'money I'd be in for a SS & TZ.

Twice a year maybe? I don't really know. If I had a big bag of cash I'd definitely grab a SS or a CFTBL. Too many cool games, not enough money.
Freezie, definitely man. I'm in the wrong end of town but I could receive and store it for you until you have a chance to run in. It'll be some time before the games will get to Canada so there is plenty of time to make arrangements.

Re: Container pins from Gerry
Here is my 2 cents
If you are buying a container game....be prepared to get a huge piece of shit.....it can happen. You would have no recourse what so ever
If you are buying a Twilight Zone for example for say........$3000.00 you can spend a lot of money on it and still get your money back in the end, even if you change the playfield etc since TZ are selling for $5000.00 to $6000.00
To me that is worth the risk, but on the other hand buying a game say like a Terminator 2 for $1500.00 and getting a pile a crap on a game that is only worth $2000.00 $2500.00 is not really worth the risk in my opinion.
I have read many threads on these container pins and not everyone has been happy

Very good point Malibu-ss. It is a lot of cash to just throw out there. Gotta be prepared to deal with what you get. It would suck to end up putting more into the pin than one you can find already in Canada. Like I said before it's kindof a shot in the dark.

Re: Container pins from Gerry
I think I have more in all my pins than their current value . But I love them and I am not worries about selling them .
The container game to me would be fun to restore and make. Strip right down to the playfeild as I have never done that . I know that black rose is probably a 2000 game , around this area likely 2500 and I probably won't get my money out of it .
Also seeing as how there is nothing in this area , I always have to over pay . Mostly because of shipping or travel time to get it .
The guy in red deer is always 2500-3000 for pins ( and up ) and they are definitely container games and he doesn't do anything to them . It's tough in our area as its like a desert here . I wish there were at least some in the wild to play and try , so at the very least a person would know if you like the game or not .
Always nice to have people insight into these things .

Malibu , well put as it plays on my fears of getting a money pit . That's where I am hesitant at the moment . Really sucks there isn't more pins in this area .
I bought a pin from Regina wonderland once , I won't do that again as its pretty beat and they always want too dollar for their crap and if you want that game you are at their mercy .

Freezie, try to find games in better shape on this continent even if you have to spend a little more!
Nice original games are more desirable and worth more to most collectors than turds that have been refurbished plus re-imports never seem to fetch the same money if you sell it.
Are there any games in particular that you are looking for?

Not really , just always on the prowl.
Black rose sold anyways , and nothing else excites me in that lot.
I'm interested in a black rose, fish tales, starship troopers.
Would love a pirates of the Caribbean , but don't want to spend the kind of cash needed.
Oh well. eyes peeled nose to the wind lol .

Re: Container pins from Gerry
Container games may not be for everyone but at least there is some choice of games when Gerry does them. Canada has been pretty bare for games lately. I'm in on that container and I must say I'm actually kind of excited. Kinda like waiting for Christmas to come as a child. However that being said I know how to fix games and I know that there is going to be A LOT to do to these games. But I'm o.k with that.

I was excited about having a project , something I could take my time with and strip down and rebuilt back up . I'm not afraid to trouble shoot, solder and replace components at all. Heck it's kind of fun and very rewarding . To be honest , I decided to jump in when I saw you fellas buying as i figured it would help the shipping side of things if we could group together. Too bad it sold on me .
