New Balrog switch install did not solve problem, still no detection. Stumped!
Hey Now, I have swapped out the Balrog switch with a new one from Pinball life received today and I am still getting zero detection in the switch test in diag mode. I am not sure if its the diode that is fubared now. I am definately stuck now. Any suggestions fellow pinheads?
I think I did a pretty good job of soldering this tricky switch into place! Too bad it did not solve the problem:

I wonder if maybe you have a broken wire leading to the switch?
Balrog does move back and forth all the time.

Nope, the Balrog open and close switch test fine in diag mode. It was moving only when commanded by the code, "Bash Balrog" etc, just no detection on hits. The Balrog is currently off the playfield but the Balrog motor is kicking in on game start.
If it is a broken wire, I am going to have to do some more troubleshooting....

but does the switch not move with the Balrog?
The switch is inside the Balrog correct?

The switch is inside\behind the Balrog and only activates when the Balrog is hit and pushed back. I think it may be a broken wire leading from the switch, but its all shrink wrapped. I am not very handy with the meter so I may need some help in fixing this one
Here is the location of the switch on the Balrog:

I pulled out and unplugged the wire and broke out the multimeter. The green wire has no continuity, it must have a break somewhere in the shrink wrap. So the switch was fine after all! What a waste of time!!!!!!!
Now I have to find some spare wire....

Found the break... how the hee haw does a wire break inside the shrink wrap? Next time I am breaking out the meter early instead of assuming its a flakey switch, damn pinsider tech support

it breaks because the wire moves all the time.....happens on cars all the time.
replace the wire.......do not just solder that one together.

Hey now too late! I already soldered it, taped it, and put the Balrog back together... I take it the wire will most likely break again Oh well, when that happens, I know where to look now!

Orderd this on ebay for $15 bucks shipped to Canada so when it breaks down again I will just replace the entire thing:
