Re: Places to play in Winnipeg
Since you guys named all the pinballs I know of in Manitoba, I'll name you a place I visited in the Minneapolis / St. Paul area. Go to SS Billiards in Hopkins, MN. About 20 pinball tables there. When we went in 2012 they had Police Force, Taxi, & many other William's games.
This year in Chicago we visited a place called Logan's Hardware but didn't realize it was also a bar so because I had my son with me, we were kicked out as he's only 15. It has a few pinball machines too.

Yep. SS billiards is well stocked. It was like 8 oclock on a tuesday when I went so I had the whole place to myself. I heard theres two machines at "glenwood comnunity center" but haven't gone to investigate yet.

Oh & if you're flying via Minneapolis / St. Paul Airport, they are well-stocked with a bunch of Stern pinballs. You would think Chicago O'Hare would be well-stocked too but I didn't see any when I was through there in June 2014.

Yeah I dont recall seeing any in there also. But its a huge airport. There might be some tucked away somewhere. Denver is the same. Huge airport. Its like polo park x 3 with plane terminals , but no arcade of any sort.

Theatre of magic at academy lanes on academy street. Right flipper is weak. The box thing does not rotate. Perhaps Funhouse can have a look-see. Was only able to score about 1.5 billion or so.

Here is some information about the Goodwill. When I heard the name, at first I thought you meant the thrift store lol. Sounds like a cool place:

Re: Places to play in Winnipeg
Great to see the Winnipeg community keeping the arcade and pinball buzz alive here. I'll throw my contribution into the mix.
The car wash on West Portage near Cavalier has a Rocky & Bullwinkle pin but it is in serious need of shopping.
The laundromat on Portage near the Family Foods grocery store and Quiznos has a Terminator 2 but is need of new bumper bands as the one on the left lower flipper lane is too big and will trap the ball. One requires constant left flipper button mashing in order to shake it loose.
The laundromat also has a Daioh arcade machine.
Finally, AVO Billiards on Ferry has a WWF Royal Rumble.

Whats with all these pinball machines in bars and lounges??! Not complaining. BTW.. I read a article recently about a "barcade" that had to remove all but of its machines because that was the limit. Any more and it was considered a "place of amusement" which were banned. I wonder if this explains the lack of arcades here.

On one hand, it seems like a pretty anal city by-law to me. On the other hand, it's understandable because you don't want to attract youths to an adult establishment.Yellowghost wrote:Whats with all these pinball machines in bars and lounges??! Re: Places to play in Winnipeg
True but they can't get into a bar..or shouldn't be able too anyway. I despise alcohol so I would prefer the implementation of a actual arcade rather than a "beercade". I find it uncomfortable going into a bar without ordering anything just to play pinball. There is a big arcade in Las Vegas a few blocks off the "strip" and I din't see any punks in there. Some weird looking people but nobody that would cause a person to be on-guard.

im not much of a drinker anymore either , i agree that i prefer to avoid the drunk idiots, social drinks are fine . The place in vegas is the pinball hall of fame , i usually go there once a year .

Correct Freezie. Awesome place..between that, the fashion outlet mall and the prime rib buffet at Circus circus , I din't have much time to see anything else in 'Vegas. Next time I need to see that car museum at Harrah's.
